This project involved the extension and remodelling of a semi-detached Victorian dwelling within Herefordshire. The clients sought to modernise their home, creating a more open and functional layout.

The design balances contemporary living with respect for the existing building and the established character of the street.

The existing ground floor layout was compartmentalised and no longer suited the clients' way of living. An extended, open-plan kitchen and dining space with a strong connection to the rear garden was achieved, which greatly improved the natural light throughout the ground floor.

The Villas demonstrates how a considered extension can transform a traditional dwelling for contemporary family life. The design delivers the open, light-filled spaces the clients sought while remaining sympathetic to the character of the existing house and the wider streetscape.
