The Net-Zero Carbon Accommodation Programme transformed the UK Defence Training Estate, delivering over 70 carbon-efficient accommodation blocks and more than 3,900 bed spaces across 15 military camps. The programme set new benchmarks for sustainability, energy efficiency, and living standards in military accommodation.

Every building achieved a DREAM 'Excellent' rating, with integrated SMART technology throughout. The programme combined innovative off-site manufacturing methods with low-carbon solutions including air source heat pumps and rooftop solar panels.

While at Ryder Architecture, Tom worked alongside the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO), Landmarc Support Services, and Reds10 to deliver this programme - successfully preparing and managing all planning applications across sites in England, Wales, and Scotland.
