Corner Cottage is a traditional stone-built dwelling tucked into a tight Herefordshire village plot. While full of period charm - exposed timber beams, and fireplace, and warm local stonework - the original layout was fragmented, with small disconnected rooms that limited natural light and suited neither modern family life nor the home's potential.

We removed internal partitions and a redundant chimney breast to create a flowing open-plan ground floor kitchen, dining, and living space. A new single-storey extension adds a stepped-down dining space from the living area, with garden views. Upstairs, a former bedroom was converted into a vaulted master suite with ensuite, and circulation throughout was improved.

The extension is deliberately restrained satisfying planning on a constrained site. The result is a cottage that honours its heritage while meeting the demands of modern living: light-filled, sociable, and practical, yet still unmistakably rooted in the Herefordshire landscape.
